Richard R. Burkhart and Renold D. Thompson, Jr., Join the Senior Advisory Board

Bartlett Maritime Corporation is pleased to announce that Richard R. Burkhart, Metals Business Entrepreneur, and Renold D. Thompson, Jr., Capital Markets Veteran, have joined the company’s Senior Advisory Board.

J. W. (Bill) Shirley, who had served as Virginia Class and Seawolf Class Program Manager at Naval Reactors, and the Honorable George A. Sawyer, former Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Shipbuilding and Logistics. New Senior Advisory Board Members Richard Burkhart and Renold Thompson are execution-focused senior leaders.

Richard Burkhart has been a principal in forty-six equity buy-outs and one initial public offering; his primary focus has been in the metals, capital goods and software systems businesses. While his experience has been global, he has specific expertise in the metals and capital goods businesses, as well as the labor market in northern Ohio. In metals, his expertise ranges from primary metals processing (i.e., steel mills) to all forms of processing and forming, including both the many types of foundries and forges as well as in the rapidly developing additive manufacturing technologies (3-D printing, etc.). His capital goods expertise is evidenced by his equity membership in National Machinery (Tiffin, OH), a manufacturer of and technology-developer for metals processing machinery (Cold Forming | National Machinery LLC| Tiffin).

Renold Thompson has more than 3decades of experience in the capital markets and more than a decade of experience as an entrepreneur in the aerospace and defense market. His capital markets experience includes being based in national/regional capital markets hubs in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Cleveland. The Bartlett Maritime Plan seeks to provide two new multi-billion-dollar facilities for the Naval Shipyard industrial enterprise to provide the necessary additional capacity and capability through an innovative and unique public-private-partnership. His experience as an entrepreneur will enable him to understand the needs and requirements of both the customer and the business while his experience in the capital markets, will guide the detailed development of the public-private-partnership and its execution in the capital markets.
