Richard Deschauer, CPCM, Fellow, Joins as Vice President, Contracts & Compliance
Bartlett Maritime Corporation is pleased to announce that Richard Deschauer, CPCM, Fellow, has joined the company as Vice President, Contracts & Compliance.
Rich Deschauer has unparalleled experience from both the government customer side and the operating contractor side of the aerospace and defense contracting business. Starting his career in the US Navy’s Supply Corps, Rich served in the wardrooms on 4 different ships, including USS Enterprise (CVN 65). Prior to his retirement as a Commander, USN, he served as Assistant Deputy Director for Contract Management (02X) at the Naval Supply Systems Command. He then served as Director of Business Operations at the Defense Contract Management Command before his Navy retirement. Rich then joined private industry with Eaton Navy Controls Division, which later became Leonardo DRS. At Eaton/DRS Rich worked closely with Bartlett Maritime Corporation founder CAPT Edward L Bartlett, Jr. then Eaton General Manager/DRS Power Systems President, to dramatically enhance business processes at the company as the Eaton business was “turned around” from continuous financial losses to consistent profitable growth and then integrated with other acquisitions to become the new market leader as DRS Power Systems – winning key product positions on all new Naval ship designs. Rich recently retired, after a combined 22 years at Eaton/DRS, as Senior Director of Contracts and Compliance.
Commenting on the addition of Rich Deschauer to the BMC leadership team, Ed Bartlett noted, “Rich Deschauer has precisely the experience and background needed to launch our expanded business operations in support of assisting the US Navy in addressing the submarine maintenance crisis. Rich was a key addition to our team as we rebuilt and transformed Eaton Navy Controls Division more than 20 years ago, and I look forward to working with him now as a key member of this new team with our laser-sharp focus on most effectively supporting our US Navy customer in resolving the ongoing submarine maintenance crisis by expanding the capacity and capability of the Naval Shipyard industrial enterprise.”
